With nearly two decades of healthcare experience, including 18 years as a licensed registered nurse, and expertise spanning intensive care, nursing leadership, healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, and medical-legal consulting. Lisa has developed expertise in evaluating complex clinical cases involving hospital systems, ambulatory care, nursing facility care, nursing care delivery, patient safety, regulatory compliance, clinical deterioration, staffing practices, documentation standards, and interdisciplinary care coordination. Her leadership background includes oversight of high-acuity inpatient services, ambulatory care, quality improvement initiatives, accreditation readiness, policy implementation, and regulatory compliance involving The Joint Commission and California Department of Public Health (Title 22).
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Lisa brings advanced clinical knowledge and analytical expertise to the review of both nursing and medical care. Her experience allows her to critically evaluate standards of care, identify deviations in clinical practice, analyze causation and systems issues, and assist counsel in understanding complex medical records and healthcare operations.
Lisa has experience in Intensive Care and Palliative Medicine, with particular expertise in serious and complex illness, including sepsis, pressure injuries, diabetes management, cardiovascular disease, renal failure, liver disease, pulmonary disease, neurodegenerative conditions, oncology, and end-of-life care. She is experienced in medical record review, chronology development, root cause analysis, regulatory review, expert reporting, deposition preparation, and litigation support.
In addition, Lisa has served for more than twelve years as a non-physician leader on an acute care ethics committee, contributing to complex case consultation, ethical decision-making, and interdisciplinary recommendations regarding patient care and treatment planning.
